Lost in Translation cuts out the rude bits for first ever PG Rated Show for Adelaide Fringe 2025

Lost in Translation is back for its fifth Adelaide Fringe, but with a Family Friendly twist.

After producers Aaron Finan and Sophie Addison started their own family in May of 2024, they decided to finally put on a PG Edition of ‘Lost in Translation.’ Alongside 17 performances at Rhino Room, they will also be taking to The Vault at Fools Paradise at 1:30pm on Saturday 8th of March for Lost in Translation – PG Edition.

With core cast members Emma Evans and Lochryn Hearne joining Sophie and Aaron, 3 other guest stars will be in this family friendly romp, which asks the question: what would happen if you took the script from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, translated it through a dozen different languages using online translators, put it back into English, removed all the rude bits and read the resulting script live on stage in costume, in character?

Having garnered a devoted following at Adelaide Fringe since its inception in 2021, ‘Lost in Translation’ has become a cult sensation, with its shows consistently selling out. Audiences have returned time and time again, with each night featuring a different script and line up of guests which inject a fresh burst of energy and spontaneity into the performance.

The regular show at Rhino Room will feature 13 different film scripts over 17 nights from February 21st – March 22nd 2025. Including classics Harry Potter, Titanic, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Twilight and Back to the Future. Along with new scripts Ghostbusters and The Mummy. They will also be completing the Lord of the Rings trilogy with The Return of the King, completing a series they started on stage in 2021.

Lost in Translation – PG Edition is presented by Braw Media and supported by Arts South Australia through ARTS UNLIMITED Adelaide Fringe Fund.
