Lost in Translation Returns to Rhino Room for Exclusive Winter Run

Lost in Translation, the wildly popular live show that takes famous film scripts through a language rollercoaster, is making its highly anticipated return to the stage at Rhino Room. Previously performed exclusively during Adelaide Fringe since 2021, this unique production promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of hilarious chaos.

On the last Saturday of each month in June, July, and August at 7PM, Lost in Translation will take over Rhino Room, located at 1/131 Pirie St, Adelaide, captivating audiences with its one-of-a-kind concept. These winter shows will feature a talented line-up of local guest stars, both familiar and new to the production.

Lost in Translation delves into the heart of cinema’s most iconic and quotable film scripts. The scripts are taken on a linguistic journey, shuttled between different languages, and then brought back to English using an online translator. Live on stage, the actors bring these resulting scripts to life, embodying beloved characters with guest stars reading them live for the first time. As the show’s title suggests, the essence of the original films remain, but some of it gets Lost in Translation.

Starting with Jurassic Park on Saturday the 24th of June, audiences can expect an evening of laughter, surprises, and rediscovering their favourite films in a whole new light. Not all is being revealed just yet though, as the films being translated and then performed in July and August will be announced closer to the date.

“We are thrilled to bring Lost in Translation back to Rhino Room for this special winter run,” says co-creator Aaron Finan. “The show has garnered such a fantastic response during Adelaide Fringe, and we wanted to offer audiences another opportunity to experience the show outside of the festival. We have some new surprises in store, and we can’t wait to share them with you.”

Lost in Translation is presented by Braw Media.
